MOLINE, Ill. — Part III should be fun.
After rolling through Evansville en route to an 82-58 win in Saturday’s Missouri Valley Conference Tournament semifinals, No. 2 seed Northern Iowa will get a third crack at in-state foe Drake — this time with a chance to dance at stake.
“Couldn’t be more proud of this team,” UNI coach Tanya Warren said. “For this young group to get back to into a championship (game) says a lot about the character of the young women in our program.”
The Panthers will meet Drake in Sunday’s 2 p.m. title game with a chance to dent the Bulldogs’ perfect Valley ledger and lock up the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth since the 2010-11 season.
