UNI readies for DePaul squad that can 'score in bunches'

Tanya Warren has been at it a while. Her coaching career started in 1988, with Warren’s first Division I job coming six years later as an Iowa State assistant.

Four more moves followed — including the one to her current post leading Northern Iowa — and the miles have certainly piled up. Road trips, recruiting trips, you name it.

But never a trip to Starkville, Miss.

Until now.

“I haven’t been,” she said, “but I’m extremely excited to be going.”

Arguably the biggest surprise from Selection Monday, Warren’s 10th-seeded Panthers are NCAA Tournament-bound for the first time in six years.
