CEDAR FALLS -- By and large, athletics at the University of Northern Iowa achieve at a high level.
Thursday night inside the McLeod Center, the Panthers' second-year director of athletics shared the rough draft of an ambitious five-year strategic plan designed to build on existing strengths while enhancing the UNI experience for student-athletes, fans and the community.
The plan establishes benchmarks for academic excellence, community involvement, competitive excellence, diversity and inclusion, financial accountability, integrity and the overall student-athlete experience.
"Just based on what I believe and our leadership team believes, we feel like it's important to put things down on paper and then hold yourself accountable for the things that you say you are planning to do," said Harris.
