What a difference seven weeks made.
After Northern Iowa delivered arguably its most impressive showing this season in an Oct. 14 upset at South Dakota State, the Panthers couldn’t duplicate that performance in Saturday’s rematch.
Backed by a balanced attack, the Jackrabbits raced out to a four-touchdown lead and cruised for most of the afternoon, knocking off UNI 37-22 in the second round of the FCS playoffs at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
With the win, South Dakota State (10-2) advances to the quarterfinals and will face New Hampshire, which upset Central Arkansas 21-15. UNI’s season ends at 8-5.
