Former Northern Iowa defensive back Jaz Granderson was found shot to death early Monday morning in St. Louis, where the 27-year-old was an assistant football coach at De Smet Jesuit High School.
Granderson was found with a gunshot wound after a witness reported hearing gunfire in the area just before 1 a.m., according to a St. Louis Dispatch report. Granderson was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The witness who heard the gunfire also heard a vehicle speed off, but authorities had no information on a suspect or motive, according to the report.
