ST. LOUIS — Standing in the bowels of Scottrade Center — the evidence of a career-ending loss still plastered across his face — Jeremy Morgan succinctly summed up a seesawing season.
“Obviously not what we were expecting,” the Northern Iowa senior said, “but it’s life. It happens.”
A UNI year that began with some positive early glimpses took a winding road to Friday’s 70-64 season-ending loss in the Arch Madness quarterfinals. A long losing stretch was followed by a strong 10-game surge, but the Panthers (14-16) ultimately ended the year dropping four straight to seal their first losing season under Ben Jacobson and first overall since the 2002-03 campaign.
