Panthers Perform on Day One at Gopher Invite

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team took to the courts on day one of the 2017 Gopher Invite hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Gisela Kemper recorded an opening-round singles win over South Dakota State's Marta-Anna Tynna, 6-2, 6-3. Kemper then dropped her quarterfinal match against Minnesota's Carolina Ryba, 6-0, 6-0.

Harri Proudfoot scored her first collegiate singles win with a three-set victory over Nebraska-Omaha's Clare Crockett, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Proudfoot fell in the quarterfinals to Minnesota's Kalyssa Hall, 6-3, 6-2.

Play will continue Saturday and Sunday at the Gopher Invite.
