BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—The University of Northern Iowa Panthers lost a close match today against the Illinois State Redbird, 4-3.
The Panthers won both matches in doubles competition. Jieke Stroobant and Astrid Santos defeated Marcia Tere-Apisah and Jelena Vujicic, 6-4. Gisela Kemper and Sydney Wolfe teamed up for a 7-6 92) decision over Gabriela Sprague and Valerija Gercar.
Stroobant's doubles win put her on the top-10 list for doubles wins at UNI with 70.
Kemper would defeat Sprague in three sets at the No. 3 singles spot, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
