Starting pitcher for UNI (20-14, 8-4 MVC), Bailey Lange had a rough start after allowing four Southern Illinois (20-18, 8-4 MVC) batters to get on base, which allowed three runs in the top of the first. An error from third baseman Alicia Crivaro resulted in the Salukis three runs to be unearned. Jaci Spencer would come in as relief and pitch the final out to end the momentum.
