STARKVILLE, Miss. — After DePaul’s Tanita Allen nailed a buzzer-beater while falling down at the end of the third quarter, Northern Iowa coach Tanya Warren and her assistants got up from their seats, stone-faced and without showing any visible reaction.
At that point, who could blame them?
It was a scene Northern Iowa was familiar with by then. Allen’s jumper was an example of the Demons’ hot shooting, and it increased DePaul’s lead to 26 points.
UNI had no answer for DePaul’s stellar shooting Friday afternoon at Humphrey Coliseum and, as a result, the Panthers’ season ended with an 88-67 loss in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
