ITHACA, New York – UNI wrestling's Taylor Lujan knocked off his first top-10 opponent of the 2018 season in the Panthers' first dual of the year, but UNI fell to No. 19 Cornell, 30-10.
UNI starts the season 0-1, and Cornell improves to 1-0 overall.
Max Thomsen got UNI on the board with a 10-1 major decision at 149 pounds over Jonathan Furnas of Cornell. The returning All-American is ranked No. 3 by Trackwrestling and led the team in takedowns with Paden Moore, who each had three.
Moore's 8-2 decision keeps him perfect at 157 pounds.
