Just 20 collegiate wrestlers were invited to compete in the men's division.
No. 3 Max Thomsen won with a 4-3 decision over Princeton's No. 5 Matthew Kolodzik at 149 pounds. Thomsen, a sophomore from La Porte City, Iowa, took fifth at last year's NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at 149 pounds.
At 184 pounds, No. 4 Drew Foster scored first in his match but was edged out by No. 3 Pete Renda of North Carolina State, 5-2.
