University of Northern Iowa junior center Ted Friedman has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference's Scholar-Athlete second team. Voting for the 2017 MVC Scholar-Athlete Team was conducted by league's sports information directors.
Friedman (Ankeny, Iowa) holds a 3.96 cumulative grade point average with a triple major – economics, finance, psychology. Friedman earned the Elite 18 Award at the 2016 MVC Tournament and earned honorable mention MVC Scholar-Athlete team status last year. He has appeared in 28 games and made four starts. He ranks third on the squad with 18 offensive rebounds.
