SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Despite playing without several starters, and losing quarterback Eli Dunne in the first quarter, No. 25 Northern Iowa leads Missouri State, 22-7, at halftime Saturday in a Missouri Valley Football Conference game.
Sam Drysdale has field goals of 20, 47 and 37, while UNI has held the ball for 20 minutes and 32 seconds.
UNI (5-4 overall and 4-2 in MVFC) scored on its opening possession as the Panthers went 75 yards in nine plays, 70 of them on the ground, getting a Marcus Weymiller 2-yard run.
However, Dunne was hurt scrambling with 5:01 left in the first quarter on a play that officials initially flagged for targeting, but a penalty that was overturned after review.
