Alyssa Buchanan has been named Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week and Sammey Bunch has been named Newcomer of the week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Alyssa Buchanan helped the Panthers in and out of the pitching circle this past week. She opened the week against Drake and pitched a complete game three-hitter while striking out nine in the win. She went 2-for-3 at the plate with two hits, scored a run and tallied an RBI. In another mid-week contest against Iowa State, Buchanan went 1-for-1 with a double, RBI, run scored and drew a walk.
