CEDAR FALLS, Iowa. – Keelon Brookins was recognized for his impact on the Northern Iowa football team this season, after the redshirt senior was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's All-Newcomer team on Tuesday.
A transfer from Wisconsin and originally slated as a defensive back, Brookins made the move to linebacker for UNI and started in the final seven games for the Panthers. The St. Paul, Minn., native has earned 28 total tackles this season, while also tallying three sacks, four pass breakups and two interceptions.
