ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team saw its chance at a third straight Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship go down in a 70-64 setback against the Missouri State Bears on Friday at Scottrade Center.
The No. 3-seeded Panthers (14-16 overall) did not have an answer for the No. 6-seeded Bears (17-15 overall) on the boards. Missouri State enjoyed a 50-25 rebounding advantage over UNI in the MVC quarterfinal matchup.
UNI senior guard Jeremy Morgan tallied a team-best 18 points while adding three steals and two blocks.
