The University of North Carolina is fresh off of its biggest commitment in four years, accumulating what looks to be its best recruiting class since 2014.
That year, three top-30 players – Justin Jackson, Theo Pinson and Joel Berry – helped propel the Tar Heels to the No. 10 recruiting class in the nation. That, in and of itself, was a tremendous feat, given the school’s entanglement in what would become a years-long investigation into academic fraud involving “paper classes”.
Now, though, the playing field appears to be leveling out. North Carolina is once again finding its way into the recruitment of numerous five-star prospects.
