CHAPEL HILL – Brianna Pinto's goal in the first half was enough to push the Tar Heels to 2-0-0 as North Carolina defeated Virginia Tech 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Dorrance Field.
"I am really happy to be 2-0. Virginia Tech is a really scrappy team and it is also nerve-wracking to play them," said Head Coach Anson Dorrance. "Coach Adair does a wonderful job organizing his team and putting a gritty squad out there. They are a really aggressive team and we could feel them while we were playing."
Pinto continued her pressure from the season-opener against the Hokies and netted her second goal of the season at the 14-minute mark.
