Report: Colts QB Andrew Luck to Retire From NFL

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has informed the team that he plans to retire from the NFL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

There will be a press conference on Sunday to make it official. Luck is "mentally worn down, and now checking out," reports Schefter.

Luck has been plagued by injuries throughout his career and is currently battling a high left ankle injury that is a result of a calf strain. It was reported recently that the Colts had a "guarded optimism" about Luck's ability to be ready in time for Indianapolis' Week 1 game against the Chargers.
