2019 Offensive Personnel Analysis

If the 2010s are going to be remembered for anything on the field, it will be for the rise and eventual domination of 11 personnel -- one running back, one tight end, and three wide receivers. At the beginning of the decade, it held a mere plurality, being used on 39.5% of all snaps. By 2013, it passed the 50% mark. In every year but one between 2011 and 2018, 11 personnel usage increased, hitting a peak of 64.2% of all offensive plays two years ago. The Rams set a record, using 11 personnel on 92.3% of their offensive snaps.
