For the fourth consecutive year, the Yankees will play October baseball. The Bombers clinched their postseason berth as the Padres defeated the Mariners on Sunday night. The team will participate in a three-game Wild Card Series, the winner of which will advance to the American League postseason bubble in California.
With their ticket to the dance punched, the Yankees can take time to rest their regular position players and line up their starting rotation. That’s not to say they don’t have anything to play for, of course, as the race for home-field advantage should land high on the priority list.
