Why identity of Hall of Fame voter who snubbed Derek Jeter remains a mystery

The identity of the Baseball Hall of Fame voter who did not vote for Derek Jeter remains a mystery, reinforcing that we may never find out who the lone dissenter is.

The Baseball Writers’ Association of America released 314 ballots Tuesday morning, all ballots from those who consented to their votes being made public, and every ballot had Jeter selected. The 79.1 percent of ballots made public is just a hair lower than last year’s 79.5 percent.

Jeter missed becoming the second unanimous Hall of Fame selection by one vote, having his box checked on 396 of 397 ballots.
