Jorge Posada made his first appearance at Old-Timers’ Day on Sunday, but he didn’t want to predict when the next member of the Core Four would make it.
The former catcher beat Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera to retirement, and asked specifically about when Jeter might make an appearance, Posada said: “Good question, good question. I have no idea. When it’s time, he’ll be here.”
Later, Posada added he didn’t expect Jeter to come anytime soon, saying Jeter wouldn’t be the next Core Four member to return.
Tino Martinez also wasn’t sure.
“When the time is right,” Martinez said.
