On Saturday evening, the Yankees topped the Blue Jays by a score of 5 - 1. With that victory, the Bombers clinched a spot in the 2017 postseason. Just a year removed from waving the white flag at the trade deadline, the team closed out September with a champagne celebration. With the division still technically in play, more festivities could be just around the corner.
That said, it’s not worth skipping too far ahead. Sometimes you have to pause and enjoy the moment. The Yankees sure did last night. Without question, they had one of the more entertaining celebrations you’ll find this time of year.
