The New York Rangers concluded the 2019 Traverse City Prospects Tournament this afternoon with a 5-3 win over the St. Louis Blues in the fifth place game. In a not so surprising move, the Rangers elected to scratch the likes of Kaapo Kakko, Adam Fox, Vitali Kravtsov, Igor Shesterkin, and Yegor Rykov for today’s matchup. Training camp opens in New York on Thursday, so there’s no sense in risking injury when these players have already shown enough.

The Rangers took an early lead in this game as Ryan Dmowski converted on a 2-on-1 rush into the zone, and gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead just five minutes into regulation.
