New York Rangers will pick at 26th overall after Bruins victory

The New York Rangers were hoping that the Toronto Maple Leafs would defeat the Boston Bruins in game seven. After coming back from a 3-1 series deficit, the Leafs lost steam after leading 4-3 after two periods. They gave up three unanswered goals to Boston in the third and lost 7-3.

With the Bruins win, they will go on to play the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round. The Rangers own both the Bruins and Lightning’s first round picks. With that said, whoever loses the series will pick have the 26th in the draft. Since both the Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators had more regular season points than both the Lightning and Bruins, whoever loses that series will have the 27th pick.
