New York Rangers rivals: Philadelphia Flyers season preview

The Flyers finished just ahead of the New York Rangers last season at 37-37-8 for a total 82 points — sixth in the division and 11th in the conference. Dismal, but not quite as dismal as the Rangers finish last season.

This off-season, Flyers management definitely seemed to be doing some work to try and rectify their roster.

Not only did they hire Alain Vigneault as their new head coach (who, if you don’t remember or perhaps forgot, coached the Rangers) but they also traded for numerous players (including one former Blueshirt) and took advantage of signing free agents.
