New York Rangers Analysis: Offense shines in 5-2 victory over New Jersey Devils

At this point in the season (and with how tight the Metropolitan Division is), the New York Rangers know that they need every single point they can get. After a disheartening loss to the Capitals the previous night, they came out with a jump in their step. And their solid effort put a tally in the win column.

Jimmy Vesey got the game started fast for the Rangers when he netted his sixth of the season. His wrist shot beat Keith Kinkaid short side a little over five minutes into the period. The Rangers’ defense did a great job of holding the Devils to only 2 shots on goal for the remainder of the period.
