New York Rangers Analysis: Chytil shines in 4-3 OT win over Devils

The New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils played a fierce game of preseason hockey, including goals, fights, and controversy. The cross-river rivals met for the first time since last season.

The game got off to a slow start, muddled with penalties. Six penalties were called in the first period alone, including two face-off violations; both were against the Rangers. Kevin Hayes lit the lamp first with a power play goal at 15:54 with a beautiful deke. Jimmy Vesey and Kevin Shattenkirk got the helpers.

The second period had even more penalties, but also more scoring. With eight penalties called in the second period, the Rangers were once again called for a faceoff violation.
