Mets reportedly pursuing Tyler Anderson as team continues to search for starters

With the trade deadline fast approaching and TBD continuing to get a large number of starts, the Mets continue to be vigilant in searching for a starting pitcher to acquire via trade. The latest rumor from Jon Heyman suggests that one player the team may be pursuing is lefty Tyler Anderson from the Pirates. Heyman also notes that other teams are talking to Pittsburgh about the pitcher and that they will make an effort to trade him before his scheduled start tonight. The Mets currently do not have a starting pitcher scheduled for their game tonight, but it would likely be a tall order to get him to Citi Field in time for the game even if they did acquire him sometime today.
