Jacob deGrom leaves game early with injury

Jacob deGrom left his start against the Diamondbacks this afternoon after just five innings because of an injury. There’s no official word from the Mets yet about the injury, but deGrom missed his start last week with an issue with his right side. An MRI revealed that deGrom only had inflammation in his right lat, and he threw late in the week before being given his start this afternoon.

During the start today, deGrom never really looked completely comfortable, though he pitched very well through the first four innings of the game and worked his way out of a jam in the fifth.
