MIAMI — Giancarlo Stanton hit his 56th homer, the most in the major leagues, and drove in three runs as the Miami Marlins completed a three-game sweep of the Mets with a 9-2 victory on Wednesday.

Stanton connected in the eighth inning for his 30th home run since the All-Star break. It was his 35th career homer against the Mets, including eight this year.

“He kills us. He literally kills us,” Mets Manager Terry Collins said. “You can’t hang stuff. We had him down and away all series long when we made pitches. When you make mistakes on the plate, he kills you, and he did today.
