The Knicks-Mike Woodson interest is officially mutual

Former Knicks coach Mike Woodson got his wish.

One day after telling The Post he would “love” to interview with the Knicks to “finish what I started,” team brass received permission from the Clippers on Sunday to talk to Doc Rivers’ top assistant, according to ESPN.

Woodson was arguably their best coach since Jeff Van Gundy, who resigned in 2001. He has been with Los Angeles since Phil Jackson fired him following the 2013-14 season and finished with a Knicks career record of 109-79.

He has worked with both Knicks president Steve Mills and GM Scott Perry in the past.
