From safaris to boxing, it was an eclectic summer for Kristaps Porzingis beyond the European Championships.

Though LeBron James now knows he can’t mess with Enes Kanter and Frank Ntilikina, King James may need to be wary of “The Lion King’’ after Porzingis spent his summer increasing his strength, warding off wild animals and donning boxing gloves with a world champion.

The 7-foot-3 Porzingis spent two weeks in the training camp of Latvian boxer Mairis Briedis, the WBC cruiserweight champion.

Later in the summer, in what he said was one of his offseason highlights, Porzingis took an authentic African safari when he played in South Africa for the NBA promotional game.
