Rockets tried dumping Chris Paul onto Knicks

As the Chris Paul-James Harden feud tears up the Rockets, the Knicks refused an offer from Houston for Chris Paul, per The Ringer.

Trading Paul, who is in the second year of a massive four-year $160 million deal, would open up much needed cap space for the Rockets — as well as alleviate the reported feud between him and Harden. The Knicks could afford to take Paul into cap space, as they have two max spaces.

Given Paul’s age and contract though, it’s understandable that the Knicks rebuffed the offer. It’s unclear whether this happened before or after Kevin Durant’s injury, but the Knicks could still try to use one of those max slots to bring KD to New York.
