It doesn’t seem like David Fizdale likes Troy Williams very much. Fizdale cut Williams with Memphis back in 2017, and now Fizdale has parted ways with the athletic forward for the second time. The New York Knicks announced Monday that they’d waived Williams.
All jokes aside, this was a surprising move. Williams had a good run in New York last season — however brief it was — and played well this summer.
Williams was fourth on the squad in scoring (11.3 points per game) and was one of the four players on the roster to appear in all five summer league games.
