NEW YORK -- With about nine minutes to play in the New York Knicks' home opener on Saturday, Kristaps Porzingis sat on the scorers' table next to the Knicks bench, set to check in to a one-point game.
Carmelo Anthony found himself in the same position regularly over the past six-plus years at Madison Square Garden.
But Anthony's in Oklahoma City, so this is now Porzingis' real estate.
And for the first time this year, Porzingis was asked to serve as the focal point for New York down the stretch of a tight game.
