The New York Knicks hired David Fizdale to create an entirely new culture. Both the new head coach and the front office are focused on making defense a priority, as well as restoring the physicality and team-oriented mindset that’s been missing for far too long.
In order to turn the Knicks around, however, Fizdale must be able to convince franchise player Kristaps Porzingis to buy in.
Porzingis has been regarded as coachable during his first three seasons with the Knicks. He’s been a legitimately elite interior defender, as well as an unselfish offensive player who’s willing to play a role instead of demanding an unrealistic number of shots.
