Back in September, when Knicks team president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry flanked then-coach Jeff Hornacek, a prime topic discussed with the media was how the team would develop a “contagious” defensive mindset. That was what they said.
Either somebody lied or the team never got the memo.
So Tuesday at the Garden, as the organization introduced the newest head coach, David Fizdale — yup, he was flanked by Mills and Perry — defense again was a hot topic. Why not? The Knicks stunk defensively last season.
So at least Fizdale knows where to start.
