New York Jets QB Trevor Siemian leaves game after brutal hit

New York Jets quarterback Trevor Siemian left Monday’s game against the Cleveland Browns with an apparent ankle injury. The injury was the result of a late hit from Browns linebacker Myles Garrett.

Cleveland was flagged 15 yards for the third-down penalty, as Siemian’s desperation heave to tight end Ryan Griffin fell incomplete. It was Garrett’s second penalty for roughing the passer of the game.

With Sam Darnold (illness) out indefinitely, the Jets were forced to turn to the veteran Siemian, who started 24 games as a member of the Denver Broncos.
