New York Jets’ Chris Herndon, Brian Winters to miss extended time

FLORHAM PARK, NJ—Another two bite the dust.

On Monday, New York Jets head coach Adam Gase revealed that two more of his players are significantly injured.

A common football phrase handed down by coaches from generation-to-generation is, “There’s a difference between being hurt and injured.” Tight end Chris Herndon and right guard Brian Winters are actually injured. They’ll both miss an extended period of time, per Gase on Monday’s regularly-scheduled conference call.

Herndon fractured a rib early in his team’s 34-27 victory over the Giants on Sunday.
