Marcus Maye says Jets' defense made 'statement' vs. Dolphins

EAST RUTHERFORD -- After flopping so badly, and missing so many tackles, in the first two games, the Jets' defense returned to expected form on Sunday.

Now, can this group keep it up?

In a 20-6 win over the Dolphins, the Jets held the Dolphins to 225 yards, including 30 rushing yards on 15 carries. The defense's production and tackling form was an about-face from the losses in Buffalo and Oakland.

"We came out today and made a statement about it," safety Marcus Maye told NJ Advance Media, regarding the missed tackles from the first two weeks.
