Kirk Cousins gives Jets look at what could have been

Back in March, Kirk Cousins used the Jets — and their offer of $90 million guaranteed — to land an improved deal from the Vikings ($84 million) and become the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time.

On Sunday, Cousins showed the team he spurned how much better they’d be this season with the veteran under center.

While Sam Darnold experienced the biggest growing pains of his rookie season and threw a career-high three interceptions — finishing with four turnovers and completing just 17-of-42 passes — Cousins had far less trouble with the windy conditions, throwing for 241 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Minnesota’s 37-17 win at MetLife Stadium.
