New York Islanders Welcome Brandon Bloom To Team Practice

Eight-year-old Brandon Bloom, diagnosed with Stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in April of 2016, was able to experience his “dream come true” today as he participated in official team practice with the New York Islanders. As a South Setauket native, Brandon was excited to spend the day with his favorite hockey team.

With the help of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Random Acts of Light program, Brandon was able to join the players in their daily routines, even sharing in team breakfast with players like Josh Bailey.

After listening in on an official meeting in the morning in the locker room, Brandon was able to suit up himself and join the rest of the Islanders on the ice.
