In the New York Islanders, preseason game at Nassau Coliseum Mathew Barzal scored to tie the game at two. That was the first time I watched Mathew in person, and the hype around him is certainly real.
He displays excellent speed and awareness with the puck. The Islanders need to find a roster spot for him when October rolls around.
In a recent SNY article, Brian Erni spoke with Corey Pronman of The Athletic. He had this to say on Mathew Barzal:
