The New York Islanders annual California road trip concludes tonight against the San Jose Sharks. The Islanders dismantled the Los Angeles Kings by a score of seven to two as they chased Jonathan Quick after six goals and tapped in an extra against Jack Campbell. The Islanders outplayed the Kings for their first possession victory of the young season while Quick absolutely stunk up the joint with the average goal coming from 38 feet out.
The Sharks should prove to be a much tougher challenge. They’ll roll out two Norris caliber defensemen in Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson for the majority of the game and they have considerably better depth at forward than the Kings.
