Why there is less ‘noise’ around the Giants than Jets

The respective plights of the Giants and Jets have been fairly similar through the first half of this season.

The only thing that separates them is the one more win the 2-6 Giants have, compared to the 1-6 Jets.

Yet the two franchises feel worlds apart.

Around the Jets right now, there’s a distinct sense of calamity.

And around the Giants, there’s an odd sense of calm that belies a team that enters Monday night’s rematch with the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium having lost its past four games.

The Jets have been overwhelmed by this week’s blowup with safety and team captain Jamal Adams, in a fit of delusion comparing himself to Tom Brady, publicly torching general manager Joe Douglas for having the audacity to do his job and field trade-offer calls about him as the deadline neared on Tuesday.
