Let me just start out by saying this:
I’m not one of those people who are clamoring for the Giants to fire head coach Pat Shurmur.
Would I have hired Shurmur in the first place? No.
Do I think it would be much of a loss if he were fired? No.
But I also don’t believe he’s been dealt a fair hand in his first two years with the team.
Last year, he was forced to play a washed-up Eli Manning because of the overall obsession co-owner John Mara has with Manning’s legacy and the burden he feels to not disrespect the organization’s most beloved figure.
