Saints attempt upgrade at nose tackle with Malcom Brown

After a relatively quiet first day of free agency, the Saints made a move to upgrade at defensive tackle by signing former New England Patriot Malcom Brown to a three-year, $15 million deal. Brown will presumably be replacing Tyeler Davison on the Saints roster as Davison was allowed to enter into free agency without being tendered.

This move is an upgrade though not a major one. Brown is a year younger and about 15 pounds heavier. They both grade out almost evenly according to Pro Football Focus with Brown being graded a little more evenly covering both run and pass and Davison grading much better against the run and more poorly in pass rush.
